Central European Historical Studies

Master’s degree (2-year MA)

Master studies during which the first and fourth semester students spend in the Institute of History of the Scythe, and the second and third in the history departments of universities in Banská Bystrica and Ostrava. During these studies you will receive a set of substantive knowledge of the past (among others, the history, political, economic, cultural and military history of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, elements of the history of historiography and the workshop of historian-researcher Central Europe, international policy) in necessary skills (eg interpretation of sources and cultural monuments). You will also have the opportunity to learn the basics of the Czech and Slovak languages, and first of all you will have the unique opportunity to have the ability to read the cultural context of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

As a graduate, you can find employment in a variety of institutions as a specialist who takes into account the historical traditions and cultural heritage of Central Europe, understanding the specificity of this area.
